Last weekend the episode of Ik Vertrek was repeated on TV at NPO , in which we, as real estate agents in Spain , were briefly seen because we assisted Brigitte and Laurens in the purchase of their house in Spain. It's unbelievable how popular this program is and how many nice reactions we still receive to our “one minute of fame” . We were not aware of the replay, but the flood of messages quickly made it clear.

How it came to this...

It has been almost five years since these recordings were made and since we met Laurens and Brigitte. We are often asked how this happened, and the answer is coincidence! At ProCare Estates we have been helping customers buy a home in Spain for almost ten years and that is how we met Laurens and Brigitte. As you have seen, Brigitte is a yoga teacher and she really wanted to start a yoga studio in a special place in Spain that also had room for lifestyle coaching and retreats. I knew the property from the broadcast, it was offered for sale with another real estate agent, I showed them this property after a number of viewings. Bull's eye! This was exactly what they had imagined for a new life in Spain.

Only after the purchase had been concluded did they indicate that they were participating in the Ik Vertrek program . We were asked if we wanted to come by during the recordings for the "real estate agent moment" that is usual in the program. It was clearly stated that it was not allowed to serve as advertising and that the logos would be blurred out. So there wasn't really a commercial interest in it, we thought. Nevertheless, we decided to participate in the recordings, but did not expect that we would end up in the most impossible positions on a yoga mat, but whoever says A must also say B! The day was very enjoyable, we had a lot of laughs and I think they could fill an entire broadcast with bloopers . Partly for this reason we went out for a bite to eat on the evening of the first broadcast, because it was also a surprise to us what they would and would not broadcast.

Unfortunately, Laurens and Brigitte's plan turned out differently and they decided to leave Spain, partly due to the corona pandemic. Setting up the yoga retreat was not possible due to the restrictions and confidence in the future here in Spain was gone. The house went up for sale and with the attention that Laurens and Brigitte had received through their participation in Ik Vertrek, they managed to sell the property in a private sale in no time.
